This instrument is self built and designed. It is based on the "Soundharp", also known as "monochord". The monochord is mentioned in Sumerian writings, and, according to some, was reinvented by Pythagoras (sixth century BCE). It is an acoustical instrument dating, consisting of an oblong wooden sounding box, originally with a single string, used for the mathematical determination of musical intervals. Later it got more strings: Ptolemy (87-150 A.C.) mentions 4 strings, and documents from the middle ages show up to 19 strings. Today , the instrument is mostly used for meditation and sound therapy, because of it's strong resonance. This "Harmonic Sound Harp" consists of 12 of these instruments with 20 strings each. A small Koto is part of the set to be able to play a melody as well. This combination is unique.
